Catching up on your political science terminology, socialism is a form of government in which "economic and political system based on public or collective ownership of the means of production," according to Investopedia. A purely socialist state is one in which the state is responsible for 100% of economic output and spends all of it on social programs, making individuals dependent on the state for everything from food to health care.
Being liberated means to be free to choose how to live your life so long as it doesn't infringe on other peoples rights. A Communist Govt controls & dictates social norms as we see in China with few individual rights.

The United States has claimed to remain a stalwart defender of individual liberty and the antithesis of authoritarianism. If Marx were to rise from the dead today though, how impressed would he be with the current statve of American government and society?
Abolish private property ' to expensive for average wage earner - companies invest in property to create mega apartments to extract wealth.
A heavy progressive income tax. Tax burdens rarely get less and is off set by the inflation tax.
Abolish all rights of inheritance. Gifting is used to get around tax laws legally.
Confiscate the property of emigrants and rebels. Asset forfeiture had expanded to citizens.

The New World Communist order will also have a New World Religion controlled by a central government body. With 80%+ of the world practicing a form of religion, government laws and statutes must be put in place as well to regulate minds and social norms.
